The visitors had the first chance with six minutes on the clock when Cameron Elliott broke through into the left side of the penalty area with Lewis Budinacukas coming from his line to make the block and Connor Allan completed the clearance. On the quarter hour mark Kevin Ciubotaru in possession on the left passed of Zak Lovlace on the angle of the box but his shot was easily saved by Curtis Lyle.

Midway through the half Robbie Ure on the right side of the box passed inside to Zak Lovelace who saw his first effort saved by Curtis Lyle then his follow up was blocked and Ross McCausland saw his effort screw wide of the keeper’s right hand post. Just before the hour mark Dylan McDonald crossed from the right and Cameron Elliott under pressure from Connor Allan volleyed wide of the near post.

Rangers really should have taken the lead within sixty seconds, Arron Lyall played a one-two with Zak Lovelace on the edge of the box to put him in the clear but he shot wide of the keeper’s right hand post. East Kilbride the had a chance through Callum Elliott into the right side of the penalty area but was denied by a Lewis Budinauckas save.

Seven minutes before the break Ross McCausland’s chip over the East Kilbride defence sent Arron Lyall clear but he shot straight at Curtis Lyle.

Rangers came close early in the second half when Kelsey Ewan passed to Ross McCausland on the right hand angle of the box and his shot was just too high at the junction of the far post and crossbar. Around the fifty-five minute mark the visitors really should have taken the lead, Callum Elliott sent Dylan McDonald to the right hand byline and from his low cross Bob McHugh fired over from inside the six yard box.

Just beyond the seventy minute mark Rangers got the chance to edge in front from the penalty spot, Kelsey Ewan played the ball forward and Ross McCausland’s superb turn took him away from a defender, he played Zak Lovelace through and he was brought down by Curtis Lyle as he tried to round the keeper. Arron Lyall stepped up but was denied as Curtis Lyle dived to his right to make the save. Soon after Robbie Ure jinked past a defender inside the left side of the box but he shot just wide of the far post.

Back to the other and and when Luke Kenny got his head to a corner from the left the ball bounced of the far post. The final chance came for the visitors in the final minute, a long throw from the left bobbed about Rangers box before following for Bob McHugh to volley goal wards with Lewis Budinauckas getting behind the powerful shot to make the save.
