Allan McGregor

7
Hearts were rarely seen as an attacking force but the veteran had to vital interceptions in each half so can be happy with his contribution.

James Tavernier

6
Still far too loose in possession but did drive the team forward in the second half to find a winner and also made one important defensive intervention late on.

Leon King

6
The inconsistency of youth was again evident with some very good defending interspersed with a lack of concentration at other moments. To be expected from an 18 year old.

Ben Davies

6
As usual defended calmly throughout but was guilty of being drawn out of position once or twice which left gaps in behind.

Borna Barisic

7
A willing runner for the full game and it was his fine pick out of Malik Tillman that delivered the all important winner. One of few players to show the required passion this season.

John Lundstram

6
Another player who's passing was too slack, too often, he nevertheless kept working hard right until the final whistle. Should have scored in first half from fine Kent cross.

James Sands

7
Was having a fine game before being forced off with an injury at half-time. Covers the ground well to allow Lundstram to roam further forward so hopefully fit for short journey to Paisley on Saturday.

Rabbi Mantondo

5
Never looks as comfortable on the right wing compared to the left. Guilty of failing to beat his man too often and has to work harder off the ball to create space at times.

Malik Tillman

7
The young American continues to frustrate. Clearly has lots of ability but needs to learn when to use the ball quicker and more effectively.

Ryan Kent

8
Unconvincing at times in the first half but never hid and became increasingly dangerous as the game went on. Played a vital part in the winning goal.

Gersnet Man of the Match

Responded well to merited recent criticism
Worked hard both in attack and defence for 90mins
Generally more positive in his play through second half

Antonio Colak

6
Struggled to really affect matters via a combination of good defending and poor service. Was unlucky with second half overhead kick.

Scott Arfield

6
The Canadian midfielder has been rather ineffective of late but found some good areas in second half and linked well with others. Could do more in a defensive sense at times.

Scott Wright

6
The former Aberdeen winger has been very poor when called upon recently but did look brighter last night and offered more than Matondo in a creative sense.

Alfredo Morelos

5
The Colombian worked hard to get into the game and did offer more than Colak to link the play later in the match. Unfortunately he missed three good chances to get on the score-sheet.

Glen Kamara

5
Late sub didn't have much time to feature heavily but did make one or two decent contributions as Hearts pushed for late equaliser.
