Rangers came close on a couple of occasions around the ten minute mark, Zak Lovelace’s flick sent Ross McCausland clear and he looked sure to score as he progressed deep into the box but was denied by Ryan Adamson’s outstretched foot, the rebound fell for Robbie Ure whose shot was deflected wide by the on loan Rangers Harley Ewan. Robbie Fraser took the corner and played the ball to Mackenzie Strachan on the right hand angle, he passed inside to Arron Lyall and his shot from the edge of the box was deflected narrowly over.

The visitors keeper excelled again on seventeen minutes, Arron Lyall sent Connor Allan down the right towards the byline and from his low cross Robbie Ure was denied by Ryan Adamson at close range. A couple of minutes later Cumbernauld took the lead, Lewis Budinuackas appeared to kick the ground when attempting to kick clear and the ball rolled a couple of yards to Ewan McPherson who rolled the ball into the net.

Rangers were barely behind for five minutes, Robbie Ure sent Ross McCausland towards the right hand byline and from his low cross Zak Lovelace converted at close range. Within in two minutes Charlie Lindsay picked out Ross McCausland inside the box with Ryan Adamson again making the save with an outstretched foot.

ust before the half hour mark Arron Lyall passed to Zak Lovelace on the left hand angle and he cut inside before shooting just wide of the far post. In Rangers next attack Ryan Adamson produced a stunning save, when the ball was cleared from the penalty area Arron Lyall’s powerfully struck shot took a deflection but the keeper reacted to save with his right hand.

The final effort on goal in the first half saw Charlie Lindsay’s effort from the edge of the box go narrowly wide of the keeper’s left hand post.

Seven minutes after the break Zal Lovelace’s flick sent Ross McCausland racing clear but Ryan Adamson came to the edge of the box to deny the Rangers forward. Ross McCausland then got to the right hand byline, Ryan Adamson dived out to parry the cross, Robbie Ure then tried to force the loose ball over the line but the keeper managed to keep the it out.

Around the hour mark a good passing move ended with Zak Lovelace teeing up Charlie Lindsay inside the box but he shot straight at Ryan Adamson. The half was at the midpoint when Ewan McPherson broke through the inside left channel, Lewis Budinauckas parried the shot then reacted to bravely save at the feet of Billy Mortimer.

In the next attack of the game Cumbernauld took the lead again, Lewis Budinauckas parried Billy Mortimer’s shot from the edge of the box with Cole McIntyre reacting quickest to slam the rebound into the net. As in the first half Rangers hit back quickly, a great turn on the halfway line from Ross McCausland took him away from two defenders and be passed the ball wide to Robbie Fraser and took the return before finding the net via the keeper’s right hand post.

Rangers came close to edging ahead when Robbie Ure’s shot from inside the left side of the penalty area beat the keeper but came back off his right hand post. With seven minutes remaining James Graham passed to Connor Allan wide on the right, from his low cross Robbie Ure tried to flick the ball past the keeper but Ryan Adamson stood tall to make the save.

The final effort of the game came at the other end with a Dylan Tennant turn and shot from the edge of the box but it was straight at Lewis Budinauckas.
