Rangers took the lead with the first real chance of the game on the quarter hour mark, the attack started on the left and when the ball was passed inside Charlie Lindsay’s shot came back off David Wilson’s right hand post but Robbie Ure reacted quickest to knock the rebound into the net. With the midpoint of the half approaching Arron Lyall cut in from the right and David Wilson was forced to tip the incoming shot over.

A few minutes later when Zak Lovelace was brought down inside the box it looked like a clear penalty but the referee waved play on. Ten minutes before the break Arron Lyall went past a defender into the left side of the penalty area and his shot from a tight angle forced David Wilson to save at his near post.

Around the hour mark a cross from the left broke to Matty McDonald inside the box and it took a block from the legs of Lewis Budinauckas to keep Rangers lead intact. The sides were level a couple of minutes later, a cross from the right was cleared to the left hand angle of the box where Kyle Semple’s half volley found the far bottom corner.

With the game reaching the final quarter hour Arron Lyall progressed along the left hand byline and from his centre Robbie Ure was denied by David Wilson at point blank range, Zak Lovelace improvised and back heeled the loose ball back into the path of Robbie Ure who on this occasion was denied by a defensive block. A couple of minutes later Robbie Ure cut in from the left hand angle of the box but shot just wide of the far post.

Rangers took the lead with eleven minutes remaining, Mackenzie Strachan passed to Zak Lovelace who powered through the inside left channel into the box and blasted the ball past David Wilson. Some good play on the right created another chance when Connor Allan cut the ball back for Jack Harkness who was denied by David Wilson.

The home side threatened with four minutes remaining when Broque Watson cut in from the left but shot straight at Lewis Budinauckas. On ninety minutes Arron Lyall played in Zak Lovelace inside the right side of the box but he was denied by a superb Matty McDonald block.

With time almost up Rangers gave possession away, the ball was eventually played out to the left and from the cross Finn Malcolm headed past Lewis Budinauckas.
