Rangers took the lead on twelve minutes when Robbie Fraser broke clear on the left, he passed inside to Alex Lowry inside the penalty area where he side stepped a defender before slotting the ball past Ally Adams. Just beyond the quarter hour mark Zak Lovelace picked out Ross McCausland inside the right side of the box but he was denied by a close range save from Ally Adams.

Rangers doubled their lead just before the twenty minute mark, Ross McCausland in possession inside the left side of the penalty area looked up and picked out Charlie Lindsay just inside the box, Ally Adams dived to his left to parry the shot but was left helpless as Jack Harkness pounced on the rebound to net from close range. Rangers next chance came when Zak Lovelace out muscled a defender on the left side of the box and his shot beat the keeper but was blocked on the line by Nick Locke with the Rangers striker firing the rebound wide of the keeper’s left hand post.

By the half hour mark Rangers extended their lead to three goals, Ross McCausland sent Zak Lovelace down the right and from his low ball across the box Alex Lowry slotted past the keeper.

Nine minutes into the second half Robbie Fraser won the ball and passed to Ross McCausland on the left side of the box, he picked out Arron Lyall on the other side of the penalty area but his effort was blocked by a defender. The game went flat for a while and there was only a quarter hour remaining when Kier Macauley broke forward from left back and his twenty five yarder forced Lewis Budinauckas to save to his left.

Rangers response saw Robbie Fraser pick out James Graham inside the box, Ally Adams forced him wide to the right hand byline where he cut the ball back to Connor Young with Ally Adams reacting well to parry a powerful shot at close range. There was a flurry of goalmouth action in the final ten minutes, first up came Nick Locke’s effort from distance that was just wide of Lewis Budinauckas’s left hand post.

A minute later Zander Miller passed to Jamie Hamilton inside the left side of the box, he cut inside but was denied when Lewis Budinauckas came from his line to make the block.

Rangers then worked a short free-kick on the left hand byline, Ross McCausland passing to Charlie Lindsay who cut inside and shot just over.

Rangers fourth goal came along in the next attack, Connor Young passed to James Graham on the right side of the penalty area where he cut the ball back to Charlie Lindsay, Ally Adams dived to his right to parry the shot but Ross McCausland was on hand at the far post to slam the ball into the net. The visitors grabbed a consolation goal with a couple of minutes remaining, Kyle Johnson shooting past Lewis Budiauckas from just outside the box.
