Trivia
Jim Baxter signed for the club in June 1960 and made his debut in the first match of the season. However, he missed the Scottish Cup defeat at home to Motherwell in March of 1961 as the British Army wouldn't release him from his National Service.
After Billy Ritchie was injured, Bobby Shearer played in goal for over 80mins of the league game against Hearts at Tynecastle in October. Rangers still managed to win 3-1!
The Glasgow Merchants' Charity Cup was contested for the last time - Celtic winning the trophy in 1961.
