Trivia

Buffalo Bill (aka Colonel W.F.Cody) of the American 'Wild West' attended the Glasgow Cup Quarter Final match against Queen's Park. This historic figure was promoting his theatre production which was touring the country at the time. See programme below!

A new grandstand built on the North side of the stadium - along with a new uncovered section in the south-west corner.

The much requested new Penalty Kick rule was brought in this season - i.e. no handball outwith goalkeepers. The first ever penalty kick was awarded to Wolverhampton Wanderers in their game against Accrington at Molineux Stadium on 14 September 1891. The penalty was taken and scored by 'Billy' Heath as Wolves went on to win the game 5-0.
