Rangers B Team recorded a comfortable win over what was a younger Everton side at The Rangers Training Centre on Wednesday afternoon. Everton never really threatened the Rangers goal and Kieran Wright never made a save over the ninety minutes.

Yet Everton had a great chance to open the scoring in the opening minute when the ball was driven across the face of goal from the right and just evading Issac Heath at the back post. On eighteen minutes an Alex Lowry pass inside Jack Butler released Ross McCausland inside the right side of the box with Billy Crellin diverting the shot wide of his near post. Alex Lowry played the corner short to Arron Lyall and from his cross Connor Allan headed narrowly over.

Just over five minutes later Alex Lowry picked up a loose ball and his effort from around twenty-five yards was just wide of the keeper’s right hand post. The game had just passed the half hour mark when Arron Lyall passed to Robbie Fraser wide on the left, his pass inside picked out Alex Lowry who shot at the keeper.

Five minutes before the break Arron Lyall laid the ball off to Alex Lowry but he didn’t get a clean connection on the shot and Billy Crellin saved comfortably. Rangers next chance came when Ross McCausland cut in from the right and ghosted past two defenders into the box but shot over. Rangers took the lead just before the half-time whistle, Zak Lovelace and Josh McPake combined to setup Arron Lyall on the edge of the box and he shot past Billy Crellin.
