Trivia
This was the start of Rangers' second 9IAR sequence - the club clinching the title at home to Hearts in late April.
On 23rd November 1988 Sir David Murray secured the purchase of Rangers from the club's then owner, the Nevada-based Lawrence Marlborough, for a sum of £6million. Murray didn't actually become chairman until June 1989.
